Are You An Expert In Your Field Part 4

How do you become an expert in your field? Is it an amount of time that you’ve worked, the education, the experience? How do you get to become the expert level plumber, expert level doctor, expert level whatever? I have heard numbers like 10,000 hours or 7 years and I have completed both of those limits, but sometimes I feel less like an expert. In part 4 of our 4 part series on showing your expert level, we continue this week looking at using a email marketing to communicate your expert level knowledge and commitment.

Being An Expert With Email Marketing

The third thing is email marketing. In email marketing want to take the content posted on your blog or website and spread it out to the email boxes of people that you’ve already had contact with. Those are the people you’ve done business with in the past or even those you need to talk to you about doing business with in the future. You have their email addresses and you can send things to them. Understand this important point: we don’t want to buy a list of junk addresses and just send stuff to people that you don’t have any other contact with. That’s not going to help you. We want people that have already connected with you in some fashion so that they are already aware or interested in what you’re offering. Then we want to take your content, package it so it’s easily digestible in an email, and then send it out to those folks so that they can get it right there in their inbox.

That’s it what we want to do, whether you’re an expert or not, is to convey that you’re an expert. You want to show and teach people that you really do know your stuff. You may not have 10,000 hours under your belt and maybe don’t have seven years. I think you can still achieve that expert level by showing people that you truly are knowledgeable and ready to help them at an expert level.
